Buying a hearing aid is not a transaction — it is the beginning of a relationship. Hearing changes over time, technology evolves, and your listening environments change. Our aftercare programme ensures your hearing aids continue to perform exactly as they should throughout their lifespan.

What our aftercare includes

Every hearing aid we fit comes with a structured aftercare programme. This includes an initial follow-up appointment two to four weeks after fitting to review performance and make fine-tuning adjustments, plus annual hearing reviews to monitor any changes in your hearing thresholds.

We also provide routine cleaning and maintenance of your devices — professionally cleaning wax filters, microphone ports, and receiver tips that home cleaning cannot effectively reach. This extends the operational life of your hearing aids significantly.

Staying with the same audiologist matters

At Hear Care, you will always see the same familiar faces. We keep detailed records of your hearing history from your first appointment onwards — so when you return for a review, your audiologist already knows your hearing profile, the device you wear, and the adjustments made previously.

This continuity is something a large retail hearing aid chain cannot easily replicate. Your audiologist knows whether your hearing has changed, whether your device is performing to its specification, and what adjustments are likely to help — without starting from scratch each time.

Common questions

Is aftercare charged separately?

Routine aftercare — including follow-up appointments, annual reviews, and cleaning — is included as part of our service. We believe good aftercare is part of what you pay for when you fit a hearing aid with us, not an optional extra.

What if my hearing aid needs a repair?

Minor repairs are often carried out in-clinic on the same day. For more complex repairs requiring return to the manufacturer, we manage the entire process — you drop the device with us and we arrange everything. Loan devices are available if your repair will take more than a few days.

What happens when my hearing aid reaches the end of its life?

We will advise you well in advance when a device is approaching end of life, and discuss your options — whether that is a replacement device, an upgrade, or a service extension. Because we know your full hearing history, the transition to a new device is straightforward.
